Chanllenged practicing Journalists to add value to themselves befor the general public, that the world has narrowed into a neighborhood in a global village of technology

Ifeajika who noted Information Technology application is higher there is the likelihood of more and more social and economic integration or inclusion of social factors in the economy, that there is need of collaboration to source and dessimination of information .

The new CPS further said his office is open for delivery of services to the Governor and to journalists for speedy dissemination of information to all citizens. The up-gradation of the above factors is a challenge but opportunities are there for transparency in governance for journalists to balance and practice objective and developmental Journalism.

In ther words Journalists should work together imbibing skills from one another. We should be very particular to promoting our people and government, that all Journalists will be progressively covered under the umbrella of Commissioner for information and the Chief Press Secretary to the gov.

OTITI  URGED DELTA GOVT TO CONSIDERED ARHAVWARIEN FOR  DEVELOPMENT &  APPOINTMENT 

The Editor of Aljaaziralreporters, Comrade Akpovoke Otiti has called upon Delta journalists to use the skills of information dissemination to attract development to Arhavwarien Kingdom, especially construction of Arhavwarien bridge and urged Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa for appointment of his kinsmem. He said, the urge for development must be ignited among the people so that they are fully involved and participate in development.

Otiti was presiding over the valedictory function of the Online media Practitioners Course in development Journalism for the new admitted online media practitioners in Asaba recently.

The Editor who said that the biggest beneficiary of democracy is the media and journalism. Since media has the biggest stake in democracy, journalists have to have a commitment to their profession, to their nation of which they are citizens and democracy. He said, newspapers must not be considered as a commodity. It has to be a vehicle of learning, change and development. The world is changing at a phenomenal pace and the developmental online news has been the biggest causality in the fast changing technologies and commercialization of the media.

Referring to Arhavwarien, Otiti said that some self centered politicians crushed the spirit of Arhavwarien people, sheer enterprise of Arhavwarien women, their profound creativity, beauty and openness. The spirit of the Arhavwarien people has not yet been restored since the Death of Dr. Brown Adasen, and late Senator Pius Ewherido but our creativity has to be fully vitalized and conveyed effectively. It is here that our journalists have the greatest role to play to involve the people and the govwrnment

Otiti said that in a democracy there are power frictions among different players. But it is the media, which moderates the hard attitudes in a multi-ethnic society in states like Delta and Nigeria. It helps to bring harmony among different groups. The Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice, Barr. Peter Mrakpor thanked the Government of Delta for not only appointing but also gives employment to 14 Deltans to mark Delta @28.

Delta Commissioner for works tip 5 Engrs for les Vegas 2020 intl Conference

As part of efforts by Delta state government to keep civil engineers in the Ministry of Works abreast with world standards in the performance of their duties, five engineers will be sent to Las Vegas in the United States of America to attend the 2020 International Civil Engineers Conference.

The commissioner for Works chief James Augoye disclosed this at the closing of the 2-day Annual training organized for civil engineers in the ministry at Gordon Resort, Abraka in Ethiope East Local Government Area.

According to the Chief Augoye, the conference will afford the engineers the opportunity to be abreast with modern techniques in road construction which will benefit the state.

According to the commissioner, another set of four engineers have been nominated to understudy concrete Mattresses at submar West Africa in Lagos next week.

Chief Augoye also stated that the next technical meeting of engineers in the ministry would be held at the second Niger Bridge under construction to enable the engineers understudy the bridge and have firsthand information about bridge construction.

The commissioner assured the engineers that the communique on their findings at the training workshop would be sent to the governor, as it would form the basis of road construction in the state.

The Permanent Secretary in the Ministry, Mr Fred Edafioghor, thanked Governor Okowa for giving the ministry the opportunity to organize the training.

Okowa declare open third edition of annual 2day training for civil engineers in Abraka

Delta State Government has reiterated the imperativeness of regular update and upgrading of those changed with the responsibility of driving the implementation machineries to ensure that processes and derivables are in tune with international best practices.

The State Governor, Sen Dr Arthur Ifeanyi Okowa stated this today in Abraka, Ethiope East Local Government while declaring open the third edition of the annual 2day training for civil engineers in the Minisyry of Works.

Gov Okowa who was represented by the Deputy Governor Barr kingsley Burutu Otuaro, disclosed that his administration highly values the partnership of the civil service establishment in the implementation of her programmes.

One of the cardinal programmes of my administration is rural-urban intergration/ urban renewal through massive development of sustainable infrastructure which is critical to achieving the Stronger Delta Vision, the Governor added.

He stated that since the inception of his administration in 2015, government has significantly advanced urban-rural integration with the construction of 455 road projects comprising of 1,269,42kms of roads and 517,34kms of drainage channels across the State.

Gov Okowa maintained that the provision of roads and physical infrastructure is critical to building a stranger and more resilient economy.

“It helps to decrease inequality, creates employment, enhances I dividual productivity, stimulates growth of micro, small and medium scale enterprises and facilitates better living conditions in our communities and cities,” Governor Okowa stated.

He also said that the provision of physical Infrastructures provided services that meet daily requirements of citizens and increased aggregate demand for goods and services that stimulates more production and expansion of the economy.

Earlier, the Commissioner for Works, Chief James Augoye said that the ministry had decided to organize the third edition of the training to keep engineers in the employ of the state government abreast with modern construction techniques and to sharpen their skills while carrying out their assigned responsibilities.

Chief Augoye who noted that some noticeable and positive gians were derived from the first and second editions of the training in respect of projects supervision explained that this made the ministry to institute the training as an annual event.

He appealed to the participants to be serious with the training as the state government had put a lot of mental and financial resources together to organise the programme.

Present at the event were the Commissioner for Information, Mr Charles Aniagwu, the acting Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Works, Mr Joshua Ebube among others.

DELTA @28: ” JAMES AUGOYE APPRECIATES DELTANS FOR BELIEVING, VOTING OKOWA

As Preparations heighten for the celebration of the creation of Delta State since 28 years ago, the Delta State Commissioner for works, Chief James Augoye says he appreciates and thanked Deltans for believing in stronger Delta and Thanked everyone in making Delta a confortable place for us all, especially voting for Senator Dr. Ifeanyi Arthur Okowa, it is a reason to celebrate Delta @28

Augoye who was fielding questions in Asaba with Aljaziralreporters News said , “as a state created 28 years ago, our leaders and indeed, all Deltans have cause to celebrate because the state has recorded huge socio- economic and political transformation within the period. We may not have been able to develop to a level we anticipated, but today we have been able to record considerable number of milestones that we can be proud of as a state in various areas of development”.

‘He said successive and present administration in the state have been able to focus on construction and maintenance of the vital infrastructure like roads , bridges and drains.
Specifically , Chuef Augoye pointed out that the Senator Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa’s administration since assuming office has embarked on construction of roads , covering a distance of kilometers , realizing that road development and construction is the backbone for the achievement of the SMART agenda and STRONGER DELTA.

The roads, he pointed out , “ are intended to link up our various communities to enhance social- economic development in the state. The movement of farm produce from one locality to another has been enhanced with the provision of motor able roads linking our communities.”
“The unprecedented growth in our state capital as witnessed in recent times is indicative of the fact that the dividend of democracy is gradually trickling down to the masses” , he opined, adding “ today the state capital is growing at a phenomenonal speed, we have been able to add a level of momentum , the fact is that the state capital has moved away from a glorified local government headquarters to something that looks more like an urban center”, he added.

He said Asaba , being the state capital has been enjoying unprecedented level of peace, as a result of the conscious efforts of our past and present leaders of the state. You will agree with me that the rapid socio-economic development of asaba, especially the invasion of Nollywood actors into Asaba is as a result of the peaceful nature and environment of the fast growing city.

In the area of education, Chief Augoye explained that, “we are still registering a level of progress as the state is paying more attention to vocational training for our students to reduce the incidence of unemployable graduates . The state is focusing on graduating students who can not only employ themselves but graduates who can become employers of labour” .
Commissioner for works said , “ It is on record that the state government has repositioned the technical and vocational schools in the state by investing huge resources to ensure that they become center of excellence, for example, His Excellency Senator Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa approved the upgrade of infrastructure and equipment in Agbor, Ofagbe and Sapele technical colleges as well as the Issele-uku, Ogor and Utagba-Ogbe technical colleges”.
According to him, a lot of policy initiatives have also been directed at the tertiary institutes as the Delta State University and the state polytechnics have received various degrees of attention from the government in the recent times in terms of upgrade of facilities and funding.
He further stated that the state has also achieved a lot in the areas of Healthcare ,

Agriculture , Transport, culture and tourism and many more.
He said in spite of the huge successes recorded as a state within this 28 years, the state government is not rolling out the drums , He said Governor Okowa is building on the foundation laid by the administrations of James Ibori and Emmnauel Uduaghan, “ we are sustaining the mother and child healthcare programme, the aged are also being taken care of , we just introduced the contributory health insurance programme , a number of hospitals are being revamped , we are hoping that our revenue improves , so that we can start addressing some other challenges in the state.”

He pointed out that “ As a state government we are not owning our workers, the state government has taken steps to pay the pensioners.

Leaders and members of the Delta State Ex-Councillors Forum have refuted a story published in Vanguard Newspaper of August 23, 2019, credited to some members of the group that the Hon. Felix Ayemidejor’s led executive has been replaced by a new executive led by one Mr. Kema Egenu.

In a statement signed by Hon. Sunday Iyeke, PRO of the group after its executive meeting in Sapele, Sapele Local Government Area of Delta state over the weekend, said the Hon Felix Ayemidejor’s led executive remains the authentic executive of the forum.

The statement described the perpetrators of the said publication as impostors whose greed and desperation overshadowed their logical reasoning and judgment.

According to the statement, “the perpetrators are been used by some PDP ex-councillors who defected to APC before the last general election to rubbish the Governor Ifeanyi Okowa’s led administration in Delta state.

While assuring members of the Delta State Ex-Coucillors Forum who served between 2014 and 2017 of its avowed commitment of fighting for their interest irrespective of distractions, the Hon. Baro noted that Keyamo as Minister of State, Niger Delta affairs, will ease the pains of underdevelopment of the people of Urhobo Nation and especially Niger Delta as a whole. Augoye appeals to Protesters that contractor handling Asaba-Ase/Abari communities has not been demobilised *Urged fed Govt on refund of fed.Roads

D E L T A State government, through the Ministry of works has said that it is yet to receive a refund from the Federal Government for rehabilitation done on FG roads state, rather it had received a promissory note.The State Commissioner for Works, Chief . James Aguoye who stated this on Monday in Asaba, said that the state has mobilised a team of engineers to patch all the federal roads.He explained that the state has embarked on rehabilitation of failed Federal Government roads in order to avoid the deaths of citizens plying the road.Aguoye said, “We have been intervening on the Federal Government failed roads; Benin/Sapele/ Agborh Eku roads and Asaba/Kwale/ Ugheli road to make it safer for Deltans and other road users.“As we speak, the state has not been refunded but we have received a promissory note from the Federal Government on the job we executed. We have also defended it at the National Assembly.“We are now working on the sector ‘A’ of Ughelli/Asaba road, earthwork cannot be properly done as a result of rainy season.“We are taken actions to address the challenges of road construction across the state especially this rainy season. Our people are facing serious challenges and complaining, so we have to intervene on these federal roads because it is our people that are using it.While reiterating the need for communities to take ownership of projects within their domain, the Works Commissioner, however, clarified that the contractor handling Asaba-Ase/Abari communities road in Ndokwa axis has not been demobilised from site to warrant protest from the people.“What we are doing now is stone base work, after the rain, the contractor would be fully mobilised to site, no road project has been abandoned, so I don’t know why the community protesting,” Aguoye said.
