It is very disingenuous for those with ulterior political motives to insinuate that in this modern age of proper documentations on land transactions, a stranger will wake up one morning to lay claim to a land allocated to him to trade. It only happened in pre-colonial times.
This whole hoopla about ‘fulanisation’ is nothing but a scare tactic employed by crafty politicians to keep their people in perpetual servitude. They pretend to be warriors fighting an imaginary ‘war’ with ‘invaders’ of their land, whilst stealing the resources of their people.
And for the unfortunate people, they become blinded by the hatred deliberately instigated in them by the rogue politicians as to the imaginary invaders of their land that they hardly notice that infrastructure are decaying and salaries are unpaid. The villain becomes their hero.
Every single crime that has always existed have suddenly become the handiwork of imaginary invaders of our land. Suddenly, all the thieves, kidnappers and murderers in our midst have either left the stage overnight or they changed their nationalities to Fulani. It’s unfortunate .”

In his inaugural speeches, Governor Mala unveiled his administration readiness to partner with North East Development Commission, local and international humanitarian organizations toward implementation of his ambitious Resettlement, Reconstruction and Rehabilitation (R3), for the peoples affected by insurgency to live a life of honor and dignity. He also proffers to create employment opportunities to stimulate the economy for improved revenue generation, and industrialize the state for the greater wealth creation. Chief Mrs Grace Aghoghovbia says Mrakpor’s re-appointment is proof that Governor Ifeanyi Okowa is not an ethnic bigot and a reflection of his quality leadership

The Ughelli South top women leader described Barr. peter Mrakpor’s re-appointment as the “final victory and well deserved appointment, that above all God in his infinite mercies be praised.

Aghoghovbia expressed optimism in Mrakpor’s ability to initiate and implement policies that would lead to an improvement in the state Judiciary

“Aghoghovbia commends Okowa for reappointing of the Commissioner for Justice and Attorney general of the state, Barr.Peter Mrakpor This action is a deviation from the past, where hard work and dedication to duty are always sacrificed on the altar of politics,” she said.

“I hail our Amiable Governor Ifeanyi Arthur Okowa for placing a high premium on the judiciary and security of lives and properties in Delta and the tremendous support he has given to Deltans over ravaging floods in his bid to curtail the activities of water and good access roads to our various communities.

She urged Deltans to support Okowa government in its quest to take the state to the stronger Deltan which we are have been yearning for .

This approach to the selection of the would-be members of the cabinet which is solely an initiative of the Governor for a stronger Delta, has brought remarkable Jubilation among friends, relatives, party Chieftains and supporters of good governance who came in numbers to celebrate with our humble Commissioner, Barr. Peter Mrakpor.

Putting into consideration, the Governor was said to have adopted a system that would ensure that influential party chieftains with proven capacity to perform well are considered for Commissioner and other appointments. Among them could be those who are former Commissioners who had performed extremely during their first time.

The rationale for this, is to make them perform creditably well to a level that could earn popularity for the party in their respective local government areas .

Another reason for considering this groups of Commissioners, is the expectation of their performance during the last tenure and the elections..

The Governor who made it known to Deltans that his cabinet will be strictly on merit and convincing go for strong and popular party men who would not only be seen as good but also who will perform well and make the party stronger in 2023 elections.

The statement said: ” we the entire people of Uvwie especially Urhobo’s and Deltans at large congratulates you on your newly appointment as the Special Adviser to Gov. Ifeanyi Okowa and inauguration.

“The former lawmaker Oboro commends the Governor and the people of Delta state for their determination and commitment to democratic principles, which resulted in the first peaceful transfer of democratic power since independence in 1960.

A boat conveying more than 20 persons suffered mishap at Egbin, near Ijede in Ikorodu area of Lagos state, on Saturday night.

The boat was conveying passengers from Ajah to Egbin when the tragic incident occurred.

The Lagos State Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA) attributed the incident to overloading. Olufemi Oke-Osanyintolu, chief executive officer of the agency, said two corpses had been recovered while rescue operation was ongoing.

“The boat allegedly capsized due to overloading. It was gathered that the boat was overturned by the heavy current three persons were rescued and were taken to hospital,” he said in a statement.

“Unfortunately, the lifeless body of an adult female, identified as Aniyikaye Oluwaseunfunmi, 40 years old and unnamed person were found and bagged by the Agency’s response team.

“Rescue and recovery efforts continue for the other missing passengers by LASEMA , LASWA officials and the Marine Police.”

Chief Sheriff Oborevwori has given out his daughter, Omonigho Oborevwori in marriage to Ogochukwu Mraranyonye among pump and pageantry in a gathering of who-is who in politics and social strata in Delta.

The traditional wedding which took place on Thursday 27th june 2019 at Usubi, Okpe Local govt Area of Delta State was well attended by the State Governor, Sen Ifeanyi Okowa and his Beautiful wife Dame Edith Okowa who led top government functionaries and politicians in the state to grace the dazzling occasion which turned out to be a gathering of political heavy weights, captains of industries and traditional chiefs within and outside the state.

Speaking at the occasion, Chief Mrs Grace Aghoghovbia told the couple to be patient, and tolerate each other, while describing the marriage between Omonigho and Ogochukwu as cross-cultural, cross-religion and cross-political equally advised the couple to trust each other for the union to be successful.

The couple later cut their wedding cake and performed the nuptial dance. The father of the bride, Chief Oborevwori also took to the dance floor with his daughter.
