ABOUT 48 hours to the 2019 general elections, Delta State Governor, Senator Dr Ifeanyi Okowa has entered into an agreement with the Urhobos for Delta Central Senatorial District to produce the next Governor in 2023 after his eight years tenure.

At a meeting of all the traditional rulers of Urhobo land held today(13/02/19) at the Palace of the Ohworode of Olomu Kingdom, HRM Ogbon Ogoni-Oghoro, Governor Okowa and former Governor James Ibori stated that the people of Delta North Senatorial District, otherwise known as Anioma should complete two terms of eight years after which, the Urhobos will produce the next Governor in 2023 in line with the rotation principle of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the state. Governor Okowa is seeking re-election as Governor on the platform of the PDP.

“Our next Governor will come from Urhobo land after my tenure in the spirit of equity,” Governor Okowa said, asserting, “by the grace of God, I will support the course of the Urhobo land producing the next Governor after me because, God has made it possible that our leader, Chief James Ibori had eight years in office and our brother, Dr Uduaghan also had eight years in office as our Governor and by divine providence, I am the Governor and because of the roles you are playing as respected traditional rulers, the trend should continue.”

The Governor listed his achievements within the last four years and thanked the traditional rulers for contributing to the success story of his administration through advise and making of their kingdoms peaceful which has translated to a peaceful state, assuring that more projects would be executed in the next four years.

“I am glad that I have the cooperation of Your Royal Majesties; through you, I have the cooperation of your subjects and I want to say thank you; you have always believed in the peace of this state, you have always believed in equity which means you want us to succeed as a people; the level of cooperation has been very high and that has built the confidence of our people; for the unity of our state, we need the cooperation of all our Royal Fathers,” the governor stated.

Chief Ibori had said, “I am accompanying my Governor to pay this courtesy call and thank you visit to the traditional rulers of Urhobo land for allowing us to campaign round Urhobo land; the Urhobos support for Governor Okowa’s re-election should not be taken for granted, let us keep this commitment strongly; we have to support him strongly because, we will need the Anioma support for Urhobos to produce the Governor in the next four years, 2023.”

“Let us support him (Governor Okowa) so that he can mobilise the Anioma people to support us in the next four years, this is important so that we can have a pact that will be actualized in the next four years,” Chief Ibori stated, observing that Governor Okowa has done very well by spreading dividends of democracy across the state and having genuine respect for the traditional rulers.

The traditional rulers prayed for the Governor, asking God to grant his request for second term in office. They also, prayed for peaceful elections.

The Social Democratic Party ( PDP ), Benue State chapter has announced the immediate suspension of Hon. Adakole Ajogi, for gross misconduct.

The State Working Committee who ratified the expulsion during an enlarged meeting of the party in Benue, and presided by the Chairman, Engr. The party in the state however, pledged to remain focus with ideas of the party even as he backed the National Executive Council NEC of the party, to endorsed President Muhammadu Buhari, adding that Buhari’s second term in office will enhance the gains of democracy recommended in the last three years.

Just barely 48 hours to the Presidential , Senatorial and House of Representatives elections, a stalwart of the people’s Democratic party, PDP , High Prince Sunny Jifas , Unity train under the auspices of the people’s Democratic party, PDP , hosted the entire Ogoni – Olomu Kingdom youths and women to solicit support for Alh.Atiku Abubakar , Dr. Peter Obi with the reelection of Okowa and urged the people of the Ogoni-Olomu Community to vote massively for Hon. Barr. Evelyn Omovowan Oboro, PDP Delta Central Senatorial candidate and Hon. Barr. Samuel S. Mariere , PDP Ugh/ Udu federal Constituency at the green Chambers . Saying that if they rig the elections , Olomu is the headquarters of the major oil Wells, that they will all be blocked if they tries any fowl play.

Jifas spit fire while addressing the mammoth crowd at his country home , Ogoni -Olomu, Ughelli South Local Government Area of Delta State, “that Hon. Oboro has open their eyes on what is going on at the House of Reps and the Senate, if they refused to give the youths jobs , we’ll blocked all the oil wells that flows to kaduna’, he said. That the youths does not need guns but jobs ; all what we seek is jobs. Jefas angrily said that if the government refused to listen to their plight they will block the oil Wells, because Olomu is the junction of the oil flow to Lagos and kaduna.

While urging Ogoni – Olomu people and others to vote for Oboro , Okowa and mariere is because the functional health centre here was built by Mariere’s father and till now the health Care is still in use, that he appeal to the general public to please kindly come out en mass on saturday, 16/02/2019 to thumbnail for the umbrella , which is the symbol of PDP.

In the same vein while commending the effort of Prince Sunny Jifas for hosting all sons and daughters of Ogoni-Olomu to this special August meeting for proper sensitization of the people on how to vote and which party to vote for in the forthcoming Saturday elections. ” Am begging you all to please vote for PDP , the party has work for us , all our roads have been tared by the road master, Sanetor Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa administration, these are people we can access at any time any day.

He advised the people to stand for PDP, adding that it is the only party that can bring a better change to the people of Ogoni-Olomu. He also advised youths to abstain from any bad act and continue to be law abiding , they should not make themselves to be used by desperate politicians during and after the elections , let’s work for PDP as he urges the people.

In response of the crowd , that they will work for PDP alone and they make sure their votes count and ensure to protect their votes to the local government council, if possible to Asaba.

Igbuya while urging APC party faithfuls to vote for Buhari and himself in forthcoming general election on the 16th goes tough , that this is not matter of party supreme, this election is an individual fight. And ask President Muhammedu Buhari to focus on his campaigns and concentrate on his election come fabuary 16th.

He further advised that APC faithfuls should work with the Chairmen of the party for overall interest of the party and the state . ” I value the unity , stability and orderly development of the urhobo people ” he concluded.

UGHELLI SOUTH —-T H E Director of Communication, aljaziralreporters News Agency, Mr. Akpovoke Treasure Otiti on Tuesday said the achievements of Senator Dr. Ifeanyi Arthur Okowa in the past three years and also the achievements of Rt. Hon. Barr. Evelyn Omavuwan Oboro, Delta Central senatorial people’s Democratic Party, pdp, Candi date would secure victory for them.

Otiti who spoke recently while playing host to PDP New Media team in Otu-Jeremi, Ughelli south ahead of the Okowa PDP Governorship campaign rally , however stressed the need for party faithfuls to promote unity while guaranteeing victories for pdp at the polls.

Otiti a member of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), New Media team, urged candidates to consolidate on the remarkable achievement of Senator Dr Ifeanyi Okowa, especially through the media, while reflecting the true position of Okowa achievements during respective campaign fora.

He advised candidates to campaign vigorously and reach out to all party faithfuls irrespective of intra-party tenderciees to ensure victories at the polls .

The Team Aghoghovbia for Okowa and the cooperative society for women, was created to seek Okowa reelection, addressing members of the groups in Ughelli south recently while playing host to the campaign train of Okowa governorship rally in Otu -Jeremi , she said in a very strong terms that , the groups are committed to return Governor Okowa to Osadebe come March, 2019,.
While addressing journalists at the podium , Ughelli south Okowa governorship campaign flag off, Mrs Aghoghovbia urged party members to adopt ward to ward, unit to unit and door to door sensitization campaign, adding that voter’s must get and armed with their voter’s cards to enable them express their franchise in the forthcoming general elections.
She also listed the achievements of the governor, while urging voter’s to reward the successes by massively voting pdp candidates in the general elections.
Okowa achievements highlighted include roads in all local government Area Of Delta State, Progress in the Health , Education and Agricultural sectors with empowerment programmes. She said.
The option ‘A’ is all about Okowa, the governorship is turn by turn , as far as Delta State is concerned. There is an arrangement either written or vabal , that power must rotates, adding that Deltans irrespective of our political divides we all should vote Okowa enmass as our governor come March.
