Dr. O’Diakpo Obire, Ph.D., a respected economist and one-time governorship candidate, has congratulated the newly elected State Executive Committee of the All Progressives Congress in Delta State, led by Chief Solomon Arenyeka as Chairman, describing their emergence as a clear reflection of the confidence and trust reposed in them by party faithful across the state.
In a statement made available to newsmen in Asaba by his Personal Assistant on Media and Publicity, Amb. Eroghene Prosper Ogagah, Dr. Obire said the peaceful and successful conduct of the State Party Congress demonstrates the growing maturity, unity, and internal democracy within the party.
He expressed optimism that the new leadership would bring renewed vigor, inclusiveness, and strategic direction to reposition the party for greater grassroots mobilization and electoral success in Delta State.
Dr. Obire noted that the emergence of Chief Arenyeka and other executive members at this critical time in the party’s growth places on them a responsibility to strengthen party structures across wards, local governments, and senatorial districts, while fostering reconciliation and collective progress among stakeholders.
He also commended the Governor, His Excellency, Elder Sheriff Oborwevwori and all party leaders for providing an enabling environment that ensured orderly, transparent, and violence-free congresses across the state, adding that such exemplary leadership has further strengthened the credibility of the party’s internal processes.
The respected economist equally appreciated the contributions of the outgoing State Executive Committee for their service, sacrifices, and commitment to sustaining the party through the last tenure. He urged all party faithful in Delta State to close ranks and extend their unwavering support to the new leadership in order to move the state forward and consolidate the party’s strength ahead of future political engagements.
“Peaceful congresses such as this reinforce the confidence of members and the general public in our democratic values and readiness to deliver good governance to the people,” he stated.
Dr. Obire wished the newly elected executives a successful tenure and assured them of his continued support and collaboration toward building a stronger and more formidable APC in Delta State.
