Read what DSP Agege said about his home-coming – this trip is Significant,Historic

By lara Owoeye-Wise
SSA Electronic and New Media to the DSP

More than a homecoming

Yesterday, I came back to my roots weeks after my election as DSP.

Home is where my people are.

Personally, this trip is very significant in more ways than one.

I went back for the first time as the Deputy President of the Senate.
It was historic.

From the Nnamdi Azikiwe International airport, Abuja, my people saw me off with blessings and they were on ground at the Warri Airport to receive me.

It was more than I bargained for.

Despite the midday downpour, they braced it to receive me home.

The young, the old, men, women, children and supporters from different ethnic backgrounds; my people. They were there.

From the Warri Airport, we made a long procession to Orhomuru Orogun where another rousing welcome awaited me. My people.

From the different speeches that were delivered, to the various cultural dance presentations, the joy and celebration were electrifying. My people.

As I sat there taking it all in and as I looked into the eyes of my people, I was, again, reminded of my assignments and the promises I made which I intend, with the help and the grace of the Almighty, to keep.

All I can say is thank you!

God bless Delta State.
God bless the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
